If it's sport you want then it's sport you shall have. A bar that treads a very thin line between bar and pub. Drenched in sporting memorabilia with an emphasis on rugby, the first sport of the city. Situated in a church building, you can't help but be impressed by the atmosphere, which is usually lively and loud. TVs fill up any space on the walls that isn't dedicated to sporting triumphs, so you can never get away from witnessing another thrashing by Rangers. This can be a really popular venue, especially at the weekend, as those determined to end up attached to a stomach pump work their way up the Grassmarket, but then there's plenty of room for everyone. On the odd occasion that there isn't, however, – Scotland v England perhaps? – you can sit outside during the day and take in the dominating image of the castle directly above you.
