Calton Hill

Standing proud over the city centre, Calton Hill offers good views, Greek revival buildings, exercise and the odd pagan festival over the course of the year. It's fast becoming the place to go on May Day when thousands of locals flood the hill for a dance and fire festival and other such pagan celebrations. This is one of the few nights in the year when it is definitely safe to experience the hill, as a few unsavoury characters are known to hang around at other times.
