Palace of Holyroodhouse
At the foot of the Royal Mile, the second most historic building in the city is usually Queen Liz's gaff for one week in July. Visitors are welcome at other times in the year to see the splendid seventeenth century apartments where Mary, Queen of Scots, amongst others, once lived.
