Beehive Inn
Some might say that the Grassmarket is one long row of nondescript uninspiring pubs. If this is all true – and I'm not exactly endorsing that statement – then the Beehive would probably be an exception. It's not that it's wonderfully unique or anything, but it does manage to be less Olde Worlde than the rest. Light wood rather than dark wood and the menu just that little bit more adventurous that it's neighbours and they do a mean Sunday roast most of the time. Sit out front in summer and watch the world go by – highly recommended Edinburgh pastime, you see some sights – or make use of the – small – beer garden in the back for some quality time with your sweetheart.
