Siam Thani

It's a real art to turn typically spicy and flavoursome dishes into boring, bland affairs, but somehow they mange to achieve it at Siam Thani. Hats off to them for also creating a venue devoid of atmosphere on one of the most interesting streets in Edinburgh. It may be a good place for a cheap pre–theatre meal – 2 courses £9.95 –, being close to the Playhouse, but the experience is akin to sipping your Coke and finding someone's replaced it with Panda Cola – a poor substitute for the real thing.
