Mackenzies

Named after the Edinburgh born writer Henry Mackenzie, who must have been very small or prone to stooping from the looks of this place. With a distinct wedding reception feel, the gaudy, cramped interior reveals a clear desire to maximise profits rather than provide good service. Admittedly the place is small, its Hobbit–like low ceilings showing the building's age, but we'd prefer to have had some room to avoid knocking the elbows of our fellow diners. Good food and worth a visit, but only if you find yourself nearby or have some weird elbow fetish.
