The Basement
Slap bang in the middle of the city, but without the stinging slap to the wallet of the ludicrously expensive George Street, The Basement is one of the coolest places in town to drink in. Forget drippy, dingy and whingey; think bright, colourful, vibrant and stylish. The music policy is funky and upbeat, the staff are friendly though verging on lunacy (they wear ker-azy, Base-mental Hawaiian shirts to confirm the point), and the food is top-notch. Get down.
