Twist

The classiest of the bunch among Edinburgh's gay venues, Twist has been recently refurbished and now attracts a more upmarket crowd. Which means less groping than CC Bloom's. And amen to that. Although it closes a little bit early for our liking at weekends (it's only open 'til 2am on Fridays and Saturdays), the basement club provides a much better ambience than most Edinburgh dives. Plus there's lots of mirrors, so now you can watch yourself dance like a twat. This could be a good or a bad thing depending on your shame threshold.
