The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art
If you need somewhere to take your hangover after utilising Scotland's late licences and can cope with bright colours, head to the neo-classical monolith that is the Gallery of Modern Art. Light and airy rooms house major works by Matisse, Picasso, Magritte, Dali and Ernst as well as showcasing 20th century Scottish art and temporary installations. If you need a fresh breeze then a detour around the beautiful grounds will reveal sculptures by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Anthony Caro, and there's a free galleries bus to the National Gallery on Princes Street.
