The Meadows

Probably the only place in Edinburgh where you're bound to see something new every time you walk by. Stroll through the on an average day and you might see jugglers, picnickers, or the hardcore training sessions of your friendly university Ultimate Frisbee team; come the summer, you'll find it plays host to all kinds of unique Fringe events. As with many things in life though, you kind of have to take the rough with the smooth as far as the Meadows are concerned, and it's not exactly the safest place in Edinburgh. We don't want to be scaremongers or anything and it is getting better, but the area's notorious for its after-dark perils so be sure to watch yourself when making your way through at night.
