Hudson's Bar
The Hudson is a fairly recent rival to the George Street high–rolling joints, comprising of a hotel, bar and club all in one building. Considering the location it's almost a given that the prices are steeper than the path up to Arthur's Seat, but how does that cheesy cosmetics ad go? 'Because you're worth it'? Well, even if you aren't then you can at least pretend just for a little while. Hudson's Bar oozes class from every orifice, and as a bonus it opens ridiculously early. Which means you can hide your closet alcoholism behind a veil of pretence and pizazz. And really, really big sunglasses.
