Sole

Nothing to do with the Dover fish that Hitchcock fancied so - not that you were probably thinking that. Unless you link sole to foot to smelly to fish, in which case we'd be very impressed and somewhat perturbed by your way of thinking. Anyway, nationwide chain Sole hits Edinburgh's fancy street The Walk, and it's pretty decent for getting some new footwear. Not as packed as Office, which is great, though it's not quite as upmarket as a few other shops on the same street, which means it's a refreshing change to see a shop selling things you want (great shoes) at prices which won't destroy your life.
