Cask and Barrel
The Cask and Barrel, at the foot of Broughton Street, mirrors the curves of the roundabout it sits on. It offers what few pubs in this area can: a good selection of reasonably-priced lagers and ales, and a view of at least three television screens showing whatever sport might be worth watching. They rarely turn the TVs off though, which can get a little bit grating. All this in a traditional décor, classically enhanced by a range of shiny booze and cigarette ads from a classier age of advertising. A safe, top candidate for anybody's local.
