Centraal
One of Edinburgh's classier booze taverns, Centraal boasts a drinks list with hundreds of foreign beers, although most people end up ordering Tennents – this is Scotland, remember. With ridiculously comfy leather sofas that make the bar seem painfully far away, and prices that keep those pesky neds out, Centraal tends to attract those who speak with a certain draawl and often wear a certain type of shaawl. Thankfully the toffs are mostly turfed out by the early evening as the thirsty drinking-class flood this popular bar in search of Belgian beer and Scottish sofas. The perfect combination.
