Rosslyn Chapel
The first Earl of Caithness was, in 1456, inspired to build this chapel as a tribute – faithfully recreating its every mysterious Masonic carving. Although undeniably impressive in itself, this pint-sized house of God (more of a bungalow of God, really) holds more than meets the eye. Unfortunately it'll be the eye only, since photography is banned for 'health and safety' reasons. Drown out naysaying historians with oversized headphones and mp3s of Gregorian chants while you get overexcited by the decorated ceilings and answer only to 'Professor Langdon'.
